Essential Music Festival Tips & Hacks for a Top Weekend (In the Rain)

Festivals in Great Britain: where dreams are made, warm beers are drank and people who still insist on shouting Alan and Steve are dealt with accordingly. We don’t condone violence, but we do condone good times, which is why we’ve compiled our essential festival tips and hacks – to ensure your festival experience is one to remember (whatever the weather).

1. Bring a Power Bank

We’ve all been there. Phoneless, friendless and hopeless – drifting among thousands of festival-goers and wandering if you’ll ever see a familiar face again. But all of this can be avoided with one simple tip: bring a power bank (aka portable charger). You won’t regret it.

2. Bring Wet Wipes

Part and parcel of festival season is smelling like an armpit for the duration of the weekend. But fret not, my smelly friends – everyone is in the same boat. So embrace the stench and wash away your worries with the trusty wet wipe. A giant pack of these bad boys will be your saviour (and your shower).

3. Eat Lamb Burgers

With all that drinking, dancing and general antics, you’re going to need some sustenance to get you through the weekend. So what better than lamb burgers? Bursting with flavour and packed full of protein, vitamins and all that good stuff – these delicious, nutritious nibbles are the perfect fuel for a fun-filled festival.

4. Prepare for the (Not So) Great British Weather

Summer in Britain: we’re either sweltering in weather that wouldn’t seem out of place in Sudan. Or, more likely, drowning in apocalyptic downpours. Either way, you should prepare for all weathers. So without meaning to sound like your nan – bring wellies, sun cream, arm bands and whatever you see fit to protect you from the mystery that is summer in Great Britain.

5. Get a Good Spot!

Your camping spot can make or break a weekend – getting stuck by infamous festival toilets, or pitching up a million miles from the arena is certainly not the one. Instead, arrive early for your pick of the pitches and try and choose a spot that is near an identifiable landmark, so your tent doesn’t get lost among the millions of others!

6. Leave Early or Leave Late

CARnage is the only way to describe the infinite queue of vehicles all rushing to leave the campsite once the masses have awoken. Our advice is to avoid the stress by leaving early, or leaving late. Getting up early or waiting around may be a struggle at the time, but it will all be worth it for that plain sailing journey and swift return to bed.

7. Enjoy Yourself!

Our most important festival tip is to enjoy yourself! It’s not often we can escape the daily drab of work without a care in the world – so live your life to the fullest and enjoy all the good music, all the festival vibes and of course, all the lamb.

So there you have it, folks. Our essential music festival tips and hacks to ensure you have a top weekend, whatever the weather.
