Love Lamb Week 2019 Love Lamb Week 2019

Love Lamb Week 2019

Christmas, Easter and the annual return of GBBO – some things are worth waiting a year for. Love Lamb Week (aka the best week of the year) is no exception, as lamb lovers from far-and-wide come together to celebrate this most marvellous of occasions. To mark Love Lamb Week 2019, we asked some of our favourite home cooks to carry out a series of love lamb challenges, to disprove common (and crazy) misconceptions that lamb is expensive, unhealthy, hard to cook and not very tasty! Our love lamb challenges included…

Budget: a tasty meal-for-two costing less than a tenner.

Health: a hearty recipe packed with protein, vitamins and zinc.

Ease: an effortless midweek meal, ready in thirty-minutes or less!

Taste: a punch-packing lamb recipe, perfect for those special occasions.

Health Challenge

First up was Recipes From A Pantry by Bintu Hardy, with the challenge of creating a delicious lamb dish that was equally as hearty as it was healthy. She didn’t disappoint! This Fragrant Moroccan Lamb Stew is a nutrient-rich, one-pot dish that is super simple to prepare, yet full of bold and complex flavours. Overflowing with all that good stuff like chickpeas, almonds, spinach and of course, lamb, which are all excellent sources of protein and rich in a variety of important vitamins and minerals, including Vitamin B and Zinc!
